Academy President Tom Leahy was invited to attend the conferring of Honorary doctorates by Dublin City University (DCU) on 2nd March to Monica McWilliams and Bertie Ahern to celebrate their part in forging the Good Friday Agreement 25 years ago.
It is thanks to their tireless commitment and their unerring belief in reconciliation that we have enjoyed 25 years of peace on the Island of Ireland. For that reason they received the honour.
