The Irish Academy of Engineering is a member of the European Council of Applied Sciences, Technologies and Engineering (Euro – CASE). This year the 23 Academies of Euro- CASE celebrated its 30th Anniversary. The annual conference was held in Brussels in the Academies Palace from 19th – 21st September hosted by the two Academies in Brussels(ARB & KVAB) who also celebrated their 250th Anniversary. The theme of this years conference was “ From open science to Innovation- An engineering challenge for Europe”.

There were three separate sessions with an attendance of 215 drawn from all the Euro – CASE Academies:

Session 1 – Promising ways of opening science.

Session 2 – Technological and industrial innovation for the prosperity of Europe

Session 3 – Technological innovation for the common good of humanity.

 

This was followed by a session for early career professionals sharing knowledge and education on experiences in Academies.
