The Academy Council at it’s meeting on 18th April 2024 paid tribute to Pat Lynch FIAE for his 28 years of service as Academy Treasurer. Pat was a founding member of the Academy in 1997 and also served as past President and a current member of the Council and the Executive. President Seamus McKeague, on behalf of the Council, thanked Pat and presented him with a token of appreciation in the form of a silver commemorative coin minted by An Post celebrating the achievements of the internationally famous engineer Charles Parson. This memento is particularly relevant because the Academy awards its annual gold Parsons medal award for Excellence in Engineering. Pat will step down at our AGM on 9th May when a new treasurer will be appointed and Pat will continue as an active member of our Academy.
