Academy President Elect Sean Finlay and Special Advisor & Past President Tom Leahy were invited guests at the MacGill Meet-up on 29th April in Notre Dame Dublin on Merrion Square.

The networking event was arranged by the MacGill summer school in association with the University of Notre Dame bringing together the MacGill Summer School Community and thought leaders from across the country and around the world.

The MacGill Summer School, in association with University of Notre Dame, is Ireland’s international forum for thought leaders to discuss the critical issues facing Ireland, Europe and the world.

It was founded by Dr. Joe Mulholland over forty years ago in the small town of Glenties in County Donegal and has grown from very modest beginnings to being one of the most important fora in Ireland for the analysis of topics of national and international interest.

The event was opened by Vincent McCarthy on behalf of the MacGill Summer School Team and  were joined by illustrious MacGill Speakers Sarah Carey of Mediahuis Ireland and Edward Burke of UCD  who gave us unique insights on the State of the World.

The event introduced our Academy to the speakers and the MacGill Summer School Team opening up interesting possibilities to highlight our all-island Academy, it’s international links and the North/South membership and collaboration with the UK Royal Academy of Engineering.
