The Academy held its AGM on Thursday 9th May 2024 followed by the Annual Fellows lunch. A fully detailed AGM pack was provided to all Academy Fellows in advance of the AGM. The Meeting was chaired by President Seamus McKeague, who was supported by fellow Academy Directors and Trustees Joe Harford Hon. Secretary, Tom Leahy Immediate Past President and Pat Lunch Hon. Treasurer. These 4 formed the Executive of the Academy. A full account of Academy activities was presented to the meeting by the Executive team followed by a Q/A session. The Academy thanked Pat Lynch for his service as treasurer since the Academy was created in 1997. The President also thanked Gabriel Dennison for his service as Chief Executive. This post was made redundant in order to provide medium to long term financial sustainability as the Academy moves to a sustainable member led organisation. Thanks were also made to the chairs and members of the Regional committees and Standing committees and the Council of the Academy with a special word of thanks to our Administrator Fiona McCarron
The following Officers were elected by the AGM:
President – Seamus McKeague was elected as President for a second one year term.
President elect – Sean Finlay was elected to take up the role of President after AGM 2025
Immediate Past President – Tom Leahy continues in this role.
Hon. Secretary – Joe Harford continues in this role
Hon. Treasurer – Tim Corcoran succeeds Pat Lynch
Special Advisor – Tom Leahy replaces Michael Hayden RIP
The AGM confirmed that the Academy was in good standing, compliant with all Governance requirements, was in good financial standing as audited by our external Auditors and had a very active programme of publications and events coupled with active engagement with the Royal Academy of Engineering (RAE) and our affiliated international organisations Euro – Case and CAETS.
