The Chemical and Process Division of Engineers Ireland selected Mr. Joe Harford to be awarded the “Icon of Process Engineering “ Award.
This Award was made by the President of Engineers Ireland Ms Laura Burke at the Divisions Annual Forum and Social Evening at the Maritime Museum, Dun Laoghaire on Thursday 21st of November 2024.
This Award is in recognition of “a lifetime of outstanding contributions to the engineering and construction of the process industries in Ireland” and Joe’s tremendous career and contribution to process engineering, especially during his industrial career.
Engineers Ireland are also very proud that the Awards was presented by the current President of Engineers Ireland Laura Burke, who is the first Chemical Engineer to be elected President in the 185 years history of Engineers Ireland.
The other recipients of awards on the night were Martin McCarthy VP EI Chem and Process Eng Div., Gerry Loughrey Jacobs Eng and Prof Patricia Kiernan recently retired from Chem Eng UCD.
Joe also serves as the Honorary Secretary of the Irish Academy of Engineering and is a member of the Academy Executive.
At the meeting of the Executive on 5th December 2024 we were delighted to recognise Joe’s award and outstanding work on behalf of the Engineering profession and the Executive offered our congratulations to Joe and his family.
