At the meeting of the Council of the Academy held on 18th April the President and Council thanked our former Chief Executive for his service over the last 7 years. The Academy is reverting to a member led organisation and the post of Chief Executive is being made redundant from 30th April 2024.
President Seamus McKeague, on behalf of the Council, thanked Gabriel and presented him with a token of appreciation in the form of a silver commemorative coin minted by An Post celebrating the achievements of the internationally famous engineer Charles Parson. This memento is particularly relevant because the Academy awards its annual gold Parsons medal award for Excellence in Engineering. At the AGM held on 9th May 2024 the President also thanked Gabriel for his service on behalf of the Academy and thanked Gabriel for his warm AGM report.
